Frequently asked questions

Plans, billing, alerts and monitoring.

Do I need a credit card for the Free plan?

No. The Free plan needs no credit card.

What is the idle pause on the Free plan?

On the Free plan, monitors stop being checked if you don’t log in at least once every 30 days. We send a reminder email 7 days before the pause, unless you have unsubscribed from these emails. To start monitoring again, log in and resume your paused monitors.

How are SMS alerts priced?

Paid plans include SMS each month: Starter 5, Medium 15, Large 30 and Enterprise 60. The Free plan includes none. Extra SMS beyond those included are priced per message, depending on the provider and destination region, and are paid from your account credit. The panel shows the price for your number before you create an SMS channel.

Are the prices shown final?

Yes. The prices shown are the final monthly prices, in euros.

How do I pay for a paid plan?

You top up prepaid credit through Stripe, and your plan is charged monthly from that credit.

How often are my sites checked?

As often as your plan allows: every 180 seconds on Free, 60 on Starter, 30 on Medium and 20 on Large and Enterprise. You can choose a longer interval on any monitor. Blacklist (RBL) monitors are checked at most once an hour.

Where can I get alerts?

By email, push to the UptimeDuck mobile app, SMS, Slack, Discord, Telegram and Matrix. See Alert channels.

Why didn’t I get an alert?

A monitor only alerts the channels linked to it, and email channels must be verified first. Open the monitor in the panel and check its notification channels, then send a test alert from the Notification Channels page.

What can I monitor?

Websites and APIs (HTTP(s)), TCP ports, ping, Minecraft servers, IP blacklists (RBL), cron jobs, Linux servers with the agent, and Kubernetes clusters. See Monitor types.

Does the server agent run on Windows?

Not yet. The agent installs on Linux with systemd. See Server agent.

How do I get help?

Email [email protected].
